The company are seeking people with a chemistry degree (or similar) and post-degree experience in instrumentation sales or with post-degree relevant laboratory experience and excellent commercial awareness, driven to move into scientific field sales.

They are very consultative in their sales approach and are seeking someone to maintain but also expand on new business opportunities on territory.

ROLE:
Maintain current customer accounts and develop new business opportunities across the territory via email, telephone and face to face communication.

Responsibilities:
Conduct sales calls to increase sales growth and territory penetration
Responsibility for negotiating contracts and closing orders with end users and purchasing departments
Ensure that accurate information is inputted into the company's customer relationship management system, including customer data and key sales information
Provide accurate and timely monthly sales forecasts to sales management
Coordinate with other internal colleagues to ensure maximum exposure at customer accounts via seminars, workshops, sponsoring technology events, exchanging account leads between internal colleagues.
Holding technical and business presentations, when required at tradeshows, user meetings and seminars
Provide technical and product expertise at customer sites and conduct product presentations
Excellent awareness of competitor activities and market trends.
Assist the wider team and sales management with territory forecasting and future planning by providing accurate forecasting information.

Person Specification:
Science-based degree - preferably Chemistry
Experience selling scientific instrumentation is preferred, but someone with extensive post-degree laboratory experience who has the commercial understanding and desire to move into scientific sales will be considered
Working knowledge of FT-IR, Raman, UV Vis is desirable
