Brook Street has been chosen as a recruitment partner to central government and the public sector to hire temporary admin and clerical workers for departments across the UK.

If you're a skilled administrator looking for a step-up, we are currently recruiting on behalf of a local government department for a Business Support Lead in Central London. This is an ongoing, long-term temporary assignment, working 37hours from Monday to Friday with a shift pattern of 9am to 5pm and many of these opportunities offer a significant pay increase on completion of 12 weeks in the same department.

Providing middle management support with minimal supervision, your duties will include:

Preparing high-level correspondence and checking that produced by others

Interpreting and reporting complex data

Resolving problems or responding to complex enquiries

Managing the workload of a team or section

Liaising with internal and external stakeholders at senior level building and maintaining relationships

Enable your team members to create and run outstanding digital services using an appropriate agile principles and methodologies, learning & iterating approaches frequently, to ensure the team can and do deliver in the most effective and efficient way possible.

Ability to apply specific agile tools to promote delivery and identify people, skills and the resources that teams need to deliver- escalating requests for people, skills and resources also.

Manage, maintain and provide information on Finance and HR Activities. Prepare any conference/event organisation and circulate all event and conference information on a timely basis.

Support the recruitment process where possible and manage the submission of contractor timesheets.

Manage the production of Architecture & Security monthly reports in support of the Business Support Manager's objectives.

Support any ad hoc requests to assist individuals within all Architecture & Security teams that require additional support in order reduce workload and meet deadlines/timescales.

Maintain contact lists and ZZ lists (regular maintenance of all staff changes, including update to record management systems). To work effectively with senior managers in the discharge of the Director and or Directors business.

To be the first point of contact dealing with any staff enquiries and communicate/escalate with senior managers if required.

Typical qualifications and experience required:

Five GCSE passes at Grade C or above

Good knowledge of and experience in using Microsoft Office

Management experience in an office environment
