Are you looking for a role to really get your teeth into and make your own? Do you enjoy taking responsibility and managing your own workload, whilst working as part of a small finance team? Are you immediately available and happy to consider a role that may lead to something longer term? Then this job opportunity may be ideal for you.

As an Accounts Assistant, you will primarily be responsible for processing weekly and monthly payrolls, with additional accountability for management of the Company's purchase ledger. To be comfortable and successful in this role, it's essential that you have previous payroll experience and knowledge of current payroll legislation, as you will manage all aspects of payroll and deal with queries. You'll be given the weekly payroll information and adjustments by a colleague, so there's no complicated systems to worry about but you will be processing any starters or leavers, pension (auto-enrolment) deductions and HMRC reporting. It will be useful if you've used Sage Payroll, as you'll be familiar with the system they use, but don't worry if you've only used other payroll systems as Sage is easy to learn. If you have processed purchase (supplier) invoices and resolved any supplier invoice or payment queries in your previous roles, that will also be useful experience, but it's not essential as payroll skills are the key requirement.

You will work next to one other finance team member who is down-to-earth, friendly and has a good sense of humour. If you don't take yourself too seriously, you'll enjoy working with them. You'll also work in an open-plan office and regularly interact with other departments: whether that's asking for information about supplier accounts to resolve queries, dealing with petty cash claims from staff or simply asking who else would like a brew. You'll initially be covering a period of absence but it's likely to be a long-term role that may become a permanent post.

If you feel that you'll be able to hit-the-ground running and are looking for a temporary role that may become a permanent post, then please call me, Paul Card, today for an informal chat.
