Affinity Workforce is looking for a Commercial Advisor to provide advice and guidance on contractual risk and commercial viability of contracts to the senior management teams across the Affinity Workforce group of companies.

The commercial advisor will review both customer and supplier contracts for new and existing business relationships in order to identify areas of financial exposure or contractual risk and will also assist all areas of the business in responding to complex bid requirements.

This is a great opportunity for a commercially-minded individual who wants to work in a fast-paced environment. Reporting directly to the board, you will get a detailed insight into contract law, negotiation and business administration, with the opportunity to progress to Commercial Manager.

The successful candidate will be based in London, Birmingham or Maidstone.

Duties include:

* Reviewing contract terms and conditions relevant to new business sales, renewals, extensions, change notices and subcontractor engagements

* Providing commentary, contract markup or drafting in order to support business engagement with the customer/supplier (as appropriate)

* Advising the senior management teams for each business unit on significant contractual risks and issues as part of the approval process in line with Affinity Workforce governance policy
* Assisting in commercial negotiations with customers or suppliers where appropriate
* Acting as a conduit (where necessary) for advice and guidance between each business unit and external professional advisors
* Supporting the business in responding to competitive bid or tender exercises by maintaining a library of company information, policies and procedures
* Ad hoc project work associated with business change and the introduction of new regulations impacting the recruitment sector
* Ad hoc company secretarial duties as required (Companies House filings, board papers, resolutions etc.

Experience/Skills:

* Excellent communications skills with the ability to engage confidently with people at various grades and with different levels of technical understanding
* Excellent attention to detail
* Good active reading skills
* The ability to prioritise a varied workload and work well under pressure
* Experience of negotiation or customer engagement
* Some exposure to commercial contracts or contract law (training will be provided)
* An understanding recruitment and/or people management is desirable but not essential

Qualifications:

* Degree calibre or commensurate experience
* Law degree (LLB/LLM or equivalent) an advantage but not essential
