Passionate about great places to live. Our client develops a range of new homes - for rent, shared ownership, and sale - and provides housing management, care and support, and commercial property services.

They are currently seeking a Tenancy Sustainment Officer to work collaboratively with colleagues across operational teams to ensure that new and existing customers are able to maintain their tenancies.

You will be responsible for sign-posting vulnerable customers to external support providers where appropriate. You will manage your own caseload of complex cases whilst giving advice and training to operational teams. You will build relationships and knowledge in relation to specialist and support agencies available.

You will carry out pre-tenancy assessments for vulnerable applicants, exploring their support needs and communicating important messages, reducing the likelihood of tenancy failure

Tenancy Sustainment Officers (TSO) are individually based within a specific Neighbourhood team. Most duties take place within this team's geographic area. Each TSO is also part of a group wide team and will work in other areas from time to time. This includes providing cover for absence and special projects or workload, attendance at team meetings and to share best practice.

The successful candidate will have a relevant professional qualification, such as housing, social work, NVQ level 3/4 or equivalent, or be qualified by experience. Demonstrable experience of working with vulnerable people including those with mental health problems and the ability to liaise and work with a wide range of agencies is required. A working knowledge of welfare benefits, relevant legislation and how to access sources of funding and services for people who are struggling financially would also be needed.

Further to this excellent organisational, administrative, time management and negotiating skills and the willingness to work flexibly in a rapidly growing and changing organisation are essential.
