The role would suit someone with at least five years' experience in the collections (loans, mortgages or credit cards) and we would be particularly interested in someone who has been involved in setting up a new collection team and the associated processes and procedures.

You will have overall responsibility for the collections function: Build, manage, review and motivate the collections teams while displaying core leadership skills and behaviours to maximise the performance of the team and its members. Core role responsibilities include:

• Achieve challenging service standards and KPIs
• Ensure that the collections function contributes to two core objectives; delivering game-changing customer experience and providing fair financial services
• Work with colleagues to ensure consistent application of policies and procedures to meet the expectations of the FCA
• Continually analyse effectiveness of existing collections strategies, and identify new and improved strategies and opportunities
• Translate customer and business partner challenges into effective product improvements
• Manage third party debt collections agencies
• Prepare all monthly dashboards for monthly collections meetings and for month end reporting to the board
• Make and contribute to risk based decisions, and to help manage the businesses credit and fraud risk profile
• Proactively review overall collections and recoveries data to contribute to lending decisions and risk discussions at the Credit Committee
• Cultivate an environment that encourages maximum effectiveness, personal growth and development, open communications and teamwork, providing leadership to team members to maximise energy, commitment and engagement
• Make outbound calls and customer communications to customers in arrears Maintain a game-changing customer experience

Skills and experience required:

• At least 5 years of experience in consumer debt collections
• Experience as a team manager / operations manager
• Strong verbal and written communication skills Passionate about providing the best customer service
