The Adecco Group are looking for someone to join their legal department. The role is a 6 month contract.

The role will be to provide an efficient and comprehensive end-to-end litigation service to Adecco UK and Ireland (all respective brands and business units within the Adecco UK group of companies structure) ("Adecco UK")

You will be Management of a caseload of litigation files including;

a)Contentious client debt recovery
b)Claims brought against the Adecco group
c)Enforcing restrictive covenants
d)Breach of contract
e)Infringement of trademarks and passing off.

*Liaising with head office departments and branches to ensure the provision of an effective service whilst being conscious of client relation

*Exercising careful tact and judgment when dealing with (prospective) defendants and taking into account all relevant factors when reaching decisions

*Identifying the nature of any disputes and assessing the likelihood of success

*Negotiating settlements where court action is undesirable due to adverse risk or other circumstances

*Drafting statements of case and other documents as required

*Defending any claims and counterclaims brought against Adecco group following the issue of proceedings

*Making interim applications for summary judgment/further information/advanced disclosure where possible to facilitate the prompt resolution of a case

*Adherence to all timescales set down by the Court

*Advocacy or attendance at the County Court

*Enforcement of judgments through the most appropriate means (e.g. bailiffs, charging orders, attachment to earnings)

*Maintaining a log of active/closed cases (format to be agreed) that will enable reports to be produced on claims issued, costs incurred etc.

*Providing tailored legal advice in response to queries received via the Litigation Helpdesk

4.Knowledge Skills and Experience

*Previous advocacy experience in civil litigation is desirable

*Excellent knowledge and clear understanding of contract law and County Court processes

*Ability to communicate effectively and concisely verbally and in writing

*Ability to keep abreast of relevant changes to law or Civil Procedure Rules

*Understanding of the nature of the recruitment industry

*High degree of self motivation and ability to work to set deadlines

*Knowledge and experience of using Microsoft Word and Excel

*Excellent numeracy, literacy and grammar

*Ability to negotiate with external parties to bring matters to a successful conclusion

*Be able to work as part of a team

*Be able to prioritise and manage the progress of own work and report back on a regular basis what progress is being made on own work

*Excellent record keeping skills

*Experience of drafting court documentation
