If you looking to move away from the City and work in a seaside town, this could be the ideal role for you.

We are looking for experienced Social Workers to work across Children's Services in Southend. You will need some experience of Child Protection, Children in Need or Looked after Children.

Southend is a culturally-rich, ethnically-diverse, socially-mixed, vibrant and progressive town with office views of surrounding countryside, the Thames Estuary and the North Sea. There is easy access by train, by car to/from London and by plane via Southend's international airport. You will be working with a local authority awarded Council of the Year in 2012.

Main responsibilities:

* To hold a caseload of nine to ten families, have unique mobile working technology initiatives and accessible management
* To work to the highest standards, and investigate, evaluate and analyse case information to provide expert, well-evidenced assessments and realistic action plans tailored to the individual needs of each child and their family.
* To take responsibility for areas essential to the smooth running of the team, including staff supervision and development, and play an integral part in the work they do and how they do it.
* You will receive all the support you need to produce professional and comprehensive Initial Assessment casework for children and young people in the Southend area.
* You will need to be meticulous in your record-keeping and insightful in your casework consultations.

Essential requirements:

* A social work qualification (degree in social work, DipSW, CQSW or equivalent recognised social work qualification
* HCPC-registered Social Worker with a detailed understanding of child protection.
* Car driver/owner essential due to location of the role - you will need to visit clients in their own homes
