Assistant Compliance Manager, Non Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive

The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme is designed to encourage increased use of renewable fuels in heating and forms a key part of the UK's commitment to reducing carbon emissions. As the administrator of the scheme, Ofgem is responsible for reviewing large volumes of applications to assess eligibility and managing payments to successful applicants.
Supporting the effective administration of the RHI compliance programme, your main responsibility will be to conduct investigations into any examples of potential non-compliance with regulations, reviewing any observations raised, and co-ordinating with other teams to reach an effective resolution. You should be able to critically review site audit reports, liaising with technical and fraud prevention managers to ensure that any risks and issues identified through audit findings are dealt with speedily and appropriately. Audit and compliance is recognised as a business critical workstream within the RHI scheme, with a direct reporting line to BEIS and DfE, so this role offers the chance to make a key personal contribution to one of our most high profile renewable energy schemes.
Applicants should combine excellent education (degree or equivalent professional qualification) with demonstrable experience of contract monitoring and supervision. Able to organise and manage competing priorities, you'll have high-quality written and verbal communication skills, and experience of working with legislation and implementing policy. Strong numerical and data analysis skills and attention to detail is a must, and full competence in MS Office applications is essential.
