Supervising Social Worker - No Out of Hours Service - Manchester caseload

My client is a reputable Independent Fostering Agency with an opportunity to offer a social worker with experience working with looked after children to join their organisation that will train you to deliver their service as a supervising social worker.

You are not required to be part of an out of hours service, allowing you to better manage your life at home. The IFA has a dedicated OOH service which is highly commended by foster carers and staff alike.

As a supervising social worker, your role will include completion of Form F assessments, delivering skills to foster training and supervising placements. The culture is based on having a low caseload of very well matched families, which means that you will spend your time delivering further training and getting to know your foster carers well.

Ideally you will have strong experience as a supervising social worker in an Outstanding organisation. If you do not have experience of working within an Outstanding IFA, then you will have an open mind to work with a fresh approach. The IFA is owned by social workers, who fully understand the stresses of the role, which means that you will not have unrealistic targets but social work will be the core of your role.

Caseload

You will be taking over a caseload across Manchester and Bolton, however there may be further travel needed as necessary, which you can expect from any other role as a supervising social worker.

Duties will include:

  • Assessing prospective carers using Form F assessments
  • Delivering Skills to Foster training
  • Supervising carers in their own home
  • Continuous professional development

Requirements for the role:

  • Can-do attitude
  • A diploma or equivalent qualification and HCPC registration
  • Have a car and driving license
