Procurement Transformation Lead
Permanent, Full Time - 36 hours a week
Circa GBP70,000 per annum

As the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) we exist to protect the public by regulating nurses and midwives in the UK. We do this by setting standards of education, training, practice and behaviour so that nurses and midwives can deliver high quality healthcare throughout their careers.

We maintain a register of nurses and midwives who meet these standards, and we have clear and transparent processes to investigate nurses and midwives who fall short of our standards.

This is an exciting time to join the Procurement Team within the NMC, we are looking at transforming and rebuilding a best practice public sector procurement function.

This role will sit directly under our AD of Procurement and alongside the Head of Procurement Operations, leading on the transformation of the procurement service, developing and recommending a new or refreshed procurement business process. The NMC is going through organisational transformation, and the Procurement Transformation Lead will play a pivotal role in leading the procurement, support in this process, and will be dedicated to providing procurement best practice for the duration of this project. You will be on hand to advise our internal and external stakeholders on the best process to take to meet our project needs.

Skills and experience

  • Must be a member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS)
  • Experience of working in a similar post or looking for the next step in your procurement career.
  • Experience of team development and strong soft skills
  • Experience of working within a public Sector procurement environment.
  • Experience of creating and reviewing procurement practice
  • Commercially focused
  • Experience in delivery of Category Management Principles
  • Broad Category Knowledge
