Placement Officer

Permanent - Full Time - 35 Hours Per Week

Office Based - TACT North East (Gateshead NE11 9NE)

TACT, the UK's largest fostering and adoption charity, is bringing its vision and ethos to the North East. Formed in 1993, we now have over 500 dedicated carers, who look after over 600 children and young people across the country. Our reputation and growth rests upon our strength in providing successful placements. As a charity, we do not have shareholders who receive profits and we invest all of our surplus income into service, staff, carers, and children's development.

Building upon our reputation for delivering excellent outcomes for children, we recently opened an office in the Gateshead area. We are now looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic, highly-motivated individual with experience in administration within the social care field.

The Placement Officer is directly accountable to the Area Manager, or to the staff member delegated by the Area Manager to supervise this post.

  • You will have experience in a social care and health setting working with children/young people and a knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
  • General office experience and knowledge of Microsoft packages is also essential along with excellent communication skills and the ability to build a rapport and a positive working relationship with external partnership agencies.
  • A standard DBS clearance is required for this role (applied for via TACT).

TACT offer an excellent benefits package including 31 days paid holiday, flexible working arrangements, group income protection scheme, x10 death in service, stakeholder pension scheme, child care vouchers and fantastic learning and development opportunities. Please see the job information pack for further information.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part the expansion of a national non-profit making organisation at a local level. We are interested in individuals for whom quality of service is paramount and in those who would share our commitment to working in partnership with children and their foster carers in the development of the agency. If you would like to be part of this exciting expansion and have the relevant skills and experience, we would like to hear from you.

Closing: Midnight on Sunday 17thSeptember 2017
Interviews: Tuesday 3rd October 2017 at TACT North East (Gateshead NE11 9NE)
