Do you have school based experience? Have you had previous experience as a school bursar? If both answers are 'yes', then please get in touch as we are looking for School Bursars and Business Managers in the Preston and surrounding area.

A School Bursar has the dynamic and essential role of providing high quality financial support and leadership on all financial matters. You will also be expected to assist the school and Head Teacher in raising achievement and reaching its targets.

We are recruiting for primary and secondary schools in and around the Preston area. These are temporary positions that require a start ASAP. The working hours are 8am - 4pm Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities include;

* To take the lead, and manage the school's financial and contractual systems.
* Provision of management information to the Senior Management team and the Governing Body using their own IT packages
* Develop systems for delegation of work, target-setting and monitoring of outcomes within the context of school Finance Service.
* Maintain a strategic financial plan that will indicate the trends and requirements of the school development plan and will assist the forecast of future year budgets.
* Identify additional finance and investments, appropriate for the school, taking account of risks and suitable providers.
* Complete appropriate returns of information, to statutory bodies such as the DfE, and receipt and processing of information returned from these statutory bodies.
* Prepare quarterly financial reports for Governors.
* Be responsible for the management of the school budget.
* To manage and review all current financial software and recommend alternatives where appropriate. Moreover, to implement training for any new financial software that is introduced.
* To maintain an overview of all school contracts and to manage the smooth renewal of these contracts.
* Oversee the promotion of the use of school premises, buildings, grounds and facilities with a view to generating income.

The successful candidate will???
* Ideally have relevant School Business Management qualifications
* Have at least three years experience working in a busy school finance office.
* Excellent knowledge of ICT including SIMS and FMS6
* Be able to provide at least satisfactory references covering at least 2 years
