One of the most exciting employers in Leeds is recruiting a Project Accountant to join the business at a time of extensive investment in new finance systems and processes.
Initially on a long term, 12 month contract basis and with potential for a permanent appointment, the vacancy is a newly created position with a remit to support the Senior Finance Manager with delivery of various aspects of multiple systems implementation and development projects.
The Project Accountant will plan and lead the process to reconcile the financial data migrated as part of the implementation of a new customer records management system. They will also develop and implement a process to collate and streamline data from the existing system so that new accounting structures can integrate efficiently with the new system.
In addition to driving the project and systems implementation work, the Project Accountant will also support the wider finance team with month end processes, management reporting, investment accounting and production of the annual budget and forecasts.
We are looking for someone either at the later stages of their CIMA / ACCA / ACA studies, or who has qualified. Essential experience for this position includes advanced IT skills including dealing with large data sets, SQL, data analysis and reconciliation.
Specific experience that's needed includes:
- Experience of producing financial reports and Management Information
- Involvement with large scale project or implementation processes
- Previous experience of reconciling large data sets
- Excellent analytical, reconciliations and reporting skills
- Experience of working on demanding projects and achieving deadlines
- Previous experience of systems and process improvements
- An ability to migrate data between systems
- Experience of supporting a budgeting and forecast process
