A provider of therapeutic fostering services has an opportunity for an experienced supervising social worker to join them on a permanent basis in the North East.

This role will also include direct work with children, creating a more engaged service and stronger understanding of the needs of the foster carers.

The fostering service provides high levels of care for children with a range of trauma and attachment issues by providing high levels of training to foster carers; therefore, you must have experience working with therapeutic models and have a strong understanding of attachment to be considered for this post.

The IFA offers high levels of training and support to their foster carers that results in stable placements. Foster carers are trained thoroughly, so each child in place is integrated into the family. You will work alongside professionals from a range of backgrounds, including social work and psychology to develop a strong understanding and working relationship with the carers.

The IFA provides a high level of care to ensure stability for placements and to ensure that foster families have a sound understanding of their therapeutic approach.

Further training will be available, however you must have a solid foundation of therapeutic knowledge to build upon.
