We are currently recruiting for an RGN on behalf of our client within 10 miles of Mansfield.

Our client is a complex care service for those aged 18-65 years old. The service is split across 6 units, and has a total of 70 beds, all of which are occupied.

Your day to day duties in this position will include, but are not limited to:

-Being responsible for the effective deployment and supervision of staff within the care team, making sure that all service users receive the required care.
-Ensuring correct medication stock levels, ordering of medications, disposing of medications and storage as per protocol
-Providing staff support, demonstration and instruction of care activities, particularly regarding the induction and mentoring of new staff
-Advising families and GP's of any changes in condition, which gives rise to concern and keeps them informed and involved in choices for ongoing care
-Undertaking nursing tasks eg. Including distribution of medication and syringe drivers, dressings, catheterisation, tube feeding and management of chronic, medical, long term conditions
-Acting at all times in line with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and maintain registration requirements
-Managing admissions and discharges as per service policies and protocols

The ideal candidate will:

-Hold a First Level qualification and current NMC Registration
-Have sound knowledge of care planning and its practical application
-Display competence in all training given regarding individual patient requirements
-Show ongoing personal and professional development in line with the requirements of the NMC
-Have knowledge and understanding of:
o health and Safety, particularly Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety and COSHH
o The Health and Safety Care Act 2008 (amended 2014) and all other relevant legislation
o Care for specific conditions ie. Pumps, respiratory equipment and basic physiotherapy

For this position, there is a shift pattern of 7 to 7.30. You can also work 1, 2 or 3 shifts a week
The hourly rate starts at GBP16p/h (with an additional 50p p/h for weekend shifts) but this will go up during service.
