Our innovative and forward-thinking software client is looking for a motivated graduate/technical author to join their small documentation team based in London. With the help of experienced and friendly colleagues, you'll create a range of online help and blended training product information for their suite of big data analytics and monitoring software tools.

Applications are welcome from graduates, junior writers looking to develop further and also from candidates in technical roles, with excellent writing skills and real enthusiasm for switching to a career in technical writing.

You will:

  • Create, deploy and manage online help content including user guides, quick start guides, how to guides, release notes, technical reference guides, and FAQs.
  • Plan, create and manage blended training content in a Moodle training framework.
  • Maintain and develop virtual learning environments.
  • Help with the delivery of wide-ranging information architecture changes. You'll help implement new information architecture changes, and will contribute to the further development and refinement of the user experience in the documentation.

You definitely don't need to be an experienced technical author, as our client welcomes applications from graduates and juniors who want to kick start an exciting new career in technical communications. If you're dynamic, energetic and driven, and want a role where you can really make a difference, we'd like to hear from you.

As the ideal candidate, you will be:

  • A technical author in the science, data, engineering, or mathematical fields with 1-2 years' experience and looking to develop further, or:
  • A graduate in IT, science, technical communication, engineering, mathematics or similar and looking to start a career in technical writing.

You will also:

  • Have a demonstrable love of writing.
  • Practical coping experience in an OO language (Java, Python, C++/C#, JavaScript etc.).
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to understand technical concepts and explain them in simple, clear and concise terms.
  • Have strong interpersonal and team working skills.
  • Have good attention to detail.

The role is based onsite at our client's City of London office within a 10 minute walk of a mainline train station.
