The Centre for Health and Clinical Research (CHCR) has strong links to the NHS and is engaged in a wide range of research aimed at improving patient care and service delivery. CHCR staff have close links to the Avon Primary Care Research Collaborative (APCRC), which works on behalf of Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Clinical Commissioning Groups.

A key aim for the APCRC is to span the boundary between academia and the NHS, to promote the exchange of knowledge between the two, and to stimulate and support research that is of direct benefit to the NHS.

The APCRC and the CHCR are driving research forward in this arena and are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic research support professional to work with them to ensure this work continues. The APCRC and CHCR, UWE are providing financial support for this post.

The purpose of this role is to support the professoriate within CHCR develop and complete the writing of grant submissions to major national or international funders, including NIHR. You will have experience in a wide range of research methodologies including qualitative or quantitative, economic evaluations and/ or systematic reviews. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, use initiative appropriately, will support and engage with senior staff in order to develop high quality research grant applications. You will also be in a position to generate good ideas for future projects and for this role and to take advantage of this opportunity for career development.

You will be attached to a research team(s) and work within themed areas of CHCR to identify bidding opportunities and develop NIHR grant applicants as a priority.

You will have access to a breadth of bidding; partner engagement and system expertise via the Research, Businsess and Innovation team at UWE: You will work in conjunction with UWE and NHS research teams, facilitating mutually beneficial connections. There will also have be some time available to dedicate to your own work, if capacity allows.
