Employee Relations Manager - Peterborough - GBP38,000
Our client, one of the largest organisations of its kind in the UK, are now looking for an experienced Employee Relations Manager to support a team of ER professionals offering advice, guidance and case management of ER issues for their UK staff.
Based in a HR Centre of Excellence environment, this role will have direct line management responsibility for a small team of around half a dozen staff. Following a restructure this newly created role will be instrumental in building that team, raising capability and inspiring and motivating the team to exceed beyond expectations.
As ER Manger you will lead from the front and as such will have a portfolio of your own complex, senior and sensitive ER cases to manage as well as supporting the team and acting as an escalation point. You will need to have plentiful ER experience including the ability to manage multi-faceted complex cases as well as the ability to prioritise and juggle potentially high volumes. Although there would be in-house support for contentious issues leading to litigation, it is expected that the ER Manager would have the ability to assess cases ad help prepare documentation in the event of tribunals.
Ideally you would have management experience however displaying leadership qualities will be more important as well as the ability to work with our client's values, both as an individual and as a manager. To be successful in this role you will ideally have a broad HR background with a strong emphasis on ER or Employment Law. Ideally you'll have experience of managing a team too. If you have experience of ER from within a regulated environment, that too would be useful.
