Building Control Development Officer - Aylesbury

The Reward
Based in Aylesbury my client is willing to pay between GBP32,676 and GBP35,328 for motivated and experienced Building Control Officers. Benefits include 28 days' annual leave, pension scheme, development & training opportunities, parking permit and flexible working options, including home working.

My clients remit ranges from determining minerals and waste planning applications, through to handling the council's own planning applications for developments including schools and roads. The Role
The purpose and remit of the role
• Support the Principle Officers and Managers within the planning sector to maintain a professional and high standard of service
• Handle building control applications, including inspection of works, inquiries and appeals
• Gather, process and analyse evidence enabling a decision on an appropriate course of action
• Assist in enforcement activities including the service of legal notices, conducting interviews under caution and the presentation of evidence in court
• Continually looks for ways to improve processes and service

The Candidate
To be considered for this position you will
• You must hold a Level 4 or above qualification in Building Control as well as be a member of RICS, CABE or CIOB, or be eligible for membership
• Have significant experience of working alongside a wide range of stakeholders
• Ability to gather, analyse and process evidence to enable decision making
• Commercially astute
• Previous experience of development within the industry
• Be familiar with policies and procedures
• Have excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Have a genuine desire to grow and progress
