An excellent opportunity has been made available for a Payroll Officer on a Part Time basis (20 Hours per week) with my client, an established Housing provider based in Weston Super-Mare.

The role is for a One Year Fixed Term Contract with the salary between GBP22k - GBP24,109 per annum. This salary will be Pro Rata'd according to 20 Hours per week.

The pro rata'd salary for 20 hours is GBP12,858.27 per annum which is equivalent of the full time salary of GBP24,109.26 per annum.

My client is looking for an experienced Payroll Officer to run the monthly payroll process and make sure all staff get paid accurately and on time.

The role of Payroll Officer manages the monthly payroll cycle, audits the input of the HR team, reports and signs off all appropriate balances and payments and ensures the BACS files are created and processed in line with internal procedures.

You'll be a competent IT user with experience of using an electronic payroll system (Client uses iTrent) to complete all monthly and annual payroll activity including Pensions, Real Time Information (RTI), P11d and all other statutory returns.

You'll need to be confident at setting up, manipulating and managing data in Microsoft Excel spread sheets to complete the role as efficiently and effectively as possible.

As well as the technical payroll knowledge you'll need to be planned and organised in your approach to work.

You'll need to be able to juggle monthly processing tasks with other longer project work whilst having a keen eye for detail to ensure the accuracy of yours and the team's work.

As a Payroll Officer you will need to work with your customers to respond to service requests within the scope of the service and provide constructive advice/signposting where requests are not the Client's responsibility.

You will be tasked with resolving complaints and expressions of dissatisfaction promptly and keep the complainant informed of progress.

Part of your role will be to establish and maintain professional boundaries

You will need to set up and update data and records electronically and manually.

As a Payroll Officer, you will expected to represent the business professionally at all times.

You will need to lead or take part in assigned projects and work collaboratively with external partners and agencies.
