Company Accountant: An experienced, hands-on Company Accountant is required to provide robust financial management across all areas of business for a leading provider of corporate relocation services.

Working closely with the Managing Director the Company Accountant will report and review actual and forecast performance at board level, as well as directing and presenting the company's financial strategic plans. With overall responsibility for company P&L the Company Accountant will provide detailed reporting and analysis relating to revenue and costs whilst guiding and supporting key financial business decisions.

The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the performance management of the Accounts Assistant in order to ensure that quality and deadlines are achieved and maintained.

Key responsibilities
*Responsible for the preparation and analysis of monthly accounts including full profit & loss, cash flow and balance sheet review to ensure they are completed accurately and on a timely basis. When required, to provide supplementary reporting, analysis and support to the MD and Executive Directors.
*Balance sheet reconciliation
*Reconciling accounts
*Prepare and post journals to Xero
*Reconcile payments to invoices and updating Xero
*Ensure that accruals and pre-payments are made in line with company policy
*Overseeing the nominal purchase & sales ledger
*To be responsible for the workflow of the Accounts Assistant
*Actively participate in the running of the business to ensure that costs are controlled, profit increased and cash flow improved.
*Credit control and cash managements. Take action to resolve issues ensuring that debt is kept to a minimum and cash flow is optimised.
*Ensuring all VAT, PAYE returns and other payroll, benefit related payments and expenses are completed
*Responsible for the Company's annual financial budget process and re-forecasts
*Producing accurate and timely year-end financial accounts liaising with auditors and third parties

Skills & experiences
*Qualified to at least AAT or similar level
*Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role
*Working knowledge of Xero (desirable)
*Positive 'can do' attitude and the resilience to cope under pressure,
*Good analytical skills, combined with attention to detail and good communication skills
*People management and development
