Our Market Intelligence and Oversight function promotes and protects integrity and transparency in the wholesale energy market. We work with market participants to ensure they understand and adhere to licence and regulation requirements. The team also provides data, insight and understanding on wholesale energy markets for the division and across the wider organisation.

We now have an opportunity for an individual with good analytical skills and strengths in project management to lead the market monitoring of the wholesale market, paying particular attention to short terms security of supply issues. You will also monitor market activity to identify potential breaches of codes and licences and support investigation work into these cases. And you'll put your analysis skills to good use, using your unique perspective to develop robust analysis on the wholesale energy market.

This role entails considerable liaison with both internal and external stakeholders, so your analysis and project management abilities must be backed up with excellent stakeholder management skills, including the tact and professionalism to manage sensitive or challenging communication. You should be able to tailor your communication style to different audiences, often simplifying complex subject matter to convey key messages. It's important that you can work well as part of a team and play your part in supporting a high performing working environment. And you should offer a good understanding of the wholesale gas and electricity markets, and be committed to developing your professional expertise further.
