Murdostoun is a 45 bed Campus facility providing services for acquired brain injury and complex neurological conditions including behaviours that challenge. We are registered with Healthcare Improvement Scotland and the Care Inspectorate and have a "very good" rating.

Murdostoun offers individual assessments, treatment and rehabilitation within a structured environment utilising a bio-psychosocial model. This enables the client and the interdisciplinary team to collaboratively reduce risk and barriers to social inclusion while enhancing the principles of person-centred care, working in partnership with our client's families, their referrers and commissioners.

In addition the services offer long-term residential placements to clients with complex brain injury or neurodisability including those who require neuro palliative nursing care. Our multidisciplinary team works closely with health boards and social services throughout Scotland to provide a seamless pathway of care.

The centre is located midway between Glasgow and Edinburgh. Eight miles from the M8 and seven miles from the M74. Wishaw, Cleland and Hartwood stations all close by. Glasgow International Airport and Edinburgh International Airport, both a 45 minute drive away

Your role will be pivotal within this dynamic team. This exciting and dynamic role will mean you are responsible for working as a key part of the multidisciplinary team and for holding your own clinical case load.

As a Clinical Psychologist working in our Brain Injury Rehabilitation and Neurological Care Centre you will:

•Hold HCPC registered with a postgraduate doctoral level training in Clinical Psychology
•Have knowledge and skills in two or more distinct psychological therapies, including CBT
Be competent in the selection, administration and interpretation of a range of cognitive assessments to inform formulation
•Have knowledge and skills in neuropsychology
•Demonstrate skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment, formulation, treatment and evaluation
•Display skills in providing consultation to other professional and non-professional groups
•Have doctoral level knowledge of research methodology, design and complex data analysis
•Have gained knowledge of mental health legislation
•Display a high degree of professionalism in the face of frequently highly emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse and the threat of physical abuse
•Have well developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex and highly sensitive information to patients, their families and carers, and other professional colleagues within and outside the company
•Show the ability to plan and prioritise workload, and work under pressure
•Have the ability to be accountable for clinical decisions and work within ethical guidelines
•Desirable: Experience in supervising assistant psychologists
