Field Sales Representative - North England - Science - c.GBP30k - Scientific Instrumentation - Consumables - Microscopes - Lab Equipment

A leading supplier of scientific instrumentation requires a Field Sales Representative to take over its Northern region sales. Due to the nature of the company, you will be selling into the academic, industrial and pharmaceutical sectors. You will ideally have a science background and have some sales experience, although a sales background is not essential.


An opportunity has arisen for a Field Sales Representative with a Science degree (or equivalent experience) to join the existing UK sales team. This is an exciting opportunity to further your career in a challenging environment mainly within the scientific instrumentation & consumables market. This is a unique opportunity for a self-motivated, enthusiastic and flexible team player to join a world class company based. The successful candidate will be expected to work on a range of products and immediately engage into a commercially driven and multi-disciplined team.

Graduates keen to get into a sales role will be considered alongside those with existing sales experience. Salary is DOE.

Responsibilities include:

*Effectively represent the company to existing & potential customer base in the north of the UK
*To promote & sell the current product portfolio into the Academic, Pharma, Industrial, Life Science and potentially the Clinical sectors.
*Identifying and develop sales opportunities to facilitate growth of the top line
*To assist in marketing and general commercial processes as necessary in order to achieve set objectives.
*Maintain accurate territory records,
*Submission of accurate and timely reports and expenses.
*Preparing quotations for customers and admin team
*Complete all necessary documentation and administrative requirements.
*Customer Support & training

These are the main functions of the role; however, employees may be required to carry out other, ad hoc duties, as may be reasonably required.

Person Specification

Skills, Experience and Knowledge:
*Situated in the north of the UK, ideally on the M62 corridor
*Educated to degree level in either Life Sciences or Material Science
*Ideally have experience of working in a Life Sciences; Materials and/or a microscopy sales environment;
*Experience of effectively liaising with business customers;
*Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a confident polite and efficient telephone manner;
*Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications;
*Ability to manage time and multiple tasks effectively;
*Interpersonal skills required to effectively communicate orally and in writing, including good customer service skills;
*Motivated individual who is flexible and willing to learn continuous best practice;
*Ability to demonstrate initiative and positive attitude;
*Excellent organisational, time management and attention to detail skills;
*Comfortable in being able work alone and/or within a team environment, contributing and sharing best practices, resources and ideas in order to continually improve the customer experience;
*Ability to effectively manage customer relationships, promptly responding to queries; ensuring promises are kept with the ability to confidently manage expectations;
*Recently graduated candidates will also be considered should they prove to demonstrate the necessary skillsets required to satisfy the post
