Are you an inspirational Secondary Teacher who is experienced working with Special Educational Needs? Can you use your knowledge and enthusiasm to engage students with SEN?

This exciting opportunity has arisen for a Secondary SEN Teacher to join the staff team in a new site of a growing special school based in Wigan. This full time role is to start after October half term and will initially be on a temporary basis; if successful this may lead to a permanent contract with the school.

This rewarding Secondary SEN Teacher position will involve planning and delivering engaging lessons in core subjects (English, Maths, Science) to small groups of students, using a flexible approach, adapting your style to suit the needs and abilities of individuals. The ability to teach a range of subjects would be desirable as at times you may be covering other lessons. Experience with SEBD and Team Teach training is essential. The ideal Teacher will have a positive and calm approach and excellent behaviour management.

This developing special school in Wigan caters for young people aged 11 to 16 with a range of SEN, specifically those with Social Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (SEBD). The full national curriculum is provided as well as qualifications, vocational courses and work experience. They offer a bespoke educational service tailored to suit the specific needs of individuals who have often become disengaged, in order to help pupils achieve success academically and improve personal development.

To join the QT team and be successful in this Secondary SEN Teacher role you will need:
* QTS or equivalent qualification that allows you to teach in schools
* Excellent subject knowledge across several core subjects
* Experience working with young people with SEN, such as SEBD
* A positive and patient attitude
* The ability to build and develop relationships with both school staff and students
* Strong behaviour management, with a calm but firm approach
* To be flexible with your style
* Team Teach training
