Seeking an effective teacher to teach a KS2 complex needs class
Your new company
Hays Education are currently working with an established setting in Sandwell that supports students with moderate learning difficulties. This Sandwell based setting is well resourced and has good facilities and pupil focused approach to learning. They provide support to pupils across KS2 -KS5, who have a variety of Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Your new role
This is a long term, covering sickness. The job will have you planning and assessing, delivering to an upper KS2 group with complex needs. Some of the individuals have complex Autism, physical disabilities and some are non-verbal. In this role you will build a strong rapport and support a pupil with mobility restrictions and complex needs. You will plan and delivery tailored curriculum to meet the needs of the cohort, taking an individualised approach. You will be open minded, hands on and comfortable if need to assist in aspects of personal care adhoc (as this will generally be supported by the respective TA support). The duration of this job should be at least up until October half term but is expected to last for the academic year, with the possibility of becoming permanent
What you'll need to succeed
To be suitable for this role you should be a passionate, outcomes focused teacher with QTS, with experience of working with children or young people or adults with Complex Needs, Moderate Learning Difficulties, Complex Needs and/ or Autism. You will have a minimum of 40 days experience, in the last 2 years, of working in schools, SLD, ASD or PMLD settings, which can be referenced. You will be passionate about working with children/ young people to achieve the best of their potential.
