The school - KS1 SEN Teacher
Pupils at this school have complex and inter-related special educational needs affecting their ability to learn such as moderate learning difficulties with additional significant speech and language difficulties and/or social/emotional difficulties; speech, language and communication needs along with significant emotional or social communication issues; significant emotional vulnerability or mental health needs.

The school offers a broad, balanced and rich curriculum that includes the National Curriculum, differentiated to match the pupils' starting points, which are usually much lower than average. Their curriculum also includes residential school journeys for all pupils in Years 7, 8, 9 & 10, a wide range of sporting activities, work experience and opportunities to develop talents through expressive arts and other creativity programmes.

Each class of 10 pupils is taught by a teacher and a Teaching Assistant. There are sometimes additional adults working alongside the teacher and TA, for example creative professionals, specialist sports coaches, speech & language therapists. In some cases, there may be 2 Teaching Assistants if any pupils in the class have an ongoing physical condition that affects their learning, or require transitional or additional support agreed with the relevant Local Authority.

To be considered for thisKS1 SEN Teacher role you must be a calm and charismatic KS1 SEN Teacher who has worked in an environment before with heightened numbers of SEN pupils and those who speak 'English as an Additional Language' and the confidence to communicate well in class.
