The role is part of the Location Planning team who are responsible for supporting the Society's GBP500m Branch Transformation Programme and branch footprint strategy. This involves the provision of detailed and informative analysis to the Location Planning team and senior stakeholders to enable effective business decisions to be made.
Who we're looking for
As a minimum requirement you'll: • Have a degree in a mathematical / statistical discipline.• Have good knowledge of the financial services industry specifically focussed on the needs of distribution channels.• Have highly advanced working knowledge of major Microsoft products, particularly Excel.• Have a proven experience of stakeholder management through questioning the way of thinking and providing insight to provide the sort of actionable outcomes that deliver business results.• Have experience in helping to deliver key projects by adding insight and highlighting salient points.• Have excellent communication skills, primarily an aptitude for communicating complex data and information at all levels including up to Senior Management.• Have experience of analysing and problem solving with large datasets whilst adhering to data governance principles and associated controls.
It would be beneficial if you also had:• A working knowledge of statistical modelling and/or data mining software such as SPSS Modeler or SAS would be highly desirable.• Basic understanding of SQL and running of queries.• An understanding of GIS and use of GIS products.

Management and collation of insightful data including census, demographic, competitor, branch performance and customer profiling, to enable in-depth analysis to be undertaken. This will involve getting to fully understand the information you are use.Influencing decisions that have real impact over future direction, you'll make the most of every opportunity to strengthen the development of strategies, planning and business management in our branch network.Whether you're identifying trends within the market, the location of branches or analysing key customer behaviours, you'll be genuinely committed to the development of effective MI to deliver the forward-thinking insights and recommendations.
For example, you may be involved in:• Supporting Location Planning in making recommendations for strategy formulation and future business investment.• Providing insights used directly by senior stakeholders.• Incorporating analysis/insights into wider strategic and commercial agendas.
