Our client supports people who face disadvantage or discrimination to have a voice that counts. Providing advocacy and user involvement services across England, they are a growing organisation working with people who are vulnerable or marginalised to raise their voices and have their rights respected.

Position: Advocate
Location: Peterborough
Job Type: Part time, Permanent
Hours: 23 hours per week
Salary: GBP21,000 to GBP25,700 pa (pro rata)

About the role:

This level is concerned with the direct provision of technical expertise to strengthen voice, champion rights and change lives of people who may be marginalised or vulnerable. Jobholders would normally report to the Service Manager or Managing Advocate and would be responsible for providing a direct service to gain positive outcomes for people along with wider impacts. Jobholders would normally have gained a recognised qualification for their technical discipline.

The advocate would be based in the Peterborough office and would primarily work on Peterborough referrals but would need to have the flexibility to cover referrals throughout Cambridgeshire when required to give flexibility across the contract.

About you:

The successful candidate would be required to work initially on Professional Advocacy cases, but with a willingness to gain an IAQ qualification if they do not hold this already. The ideal candidate would ideally have experience of working with people affected by mental health issues.

The candidate must have flexibility to cover Cambridgeshire and Peterborough referrals/appointments. You must hold full UK drivers licence and have own vehicle insured for business use.

You may have experience of the following: Advocate, NHS, Vulnerable Adults, IAQ, Charity, Third Sector, Social Worker, IMCA, DOLS, RPR, Legislation, Policy, Support Worker, Healthcare etc.
