The Camden STEAM Commission brought together leading representatives from Camden schools, colleges, the public sector and businesses to consider how best to give young people the skills and opportunities to allow them to take part in the borough's thriving creative, scientific and digital economy. The STEAM Commission's ambition is to link businesses strongly with schools and further education colleges to help deliver the 21st century talent they need and, in so doing, to guarantee the best opportunities and futures for all our young people.

The Camden STEAM Commission delivered its recommendations in June 2017 and we are now seeking a STEAM Programme Manager to oversee the implementation phase. This involves developing, commissioning and managing STEAM projects and initiatives in partnership with the Chair of the Commission, the Implementation Steering Group and a range of other key internal and external stakeholders. Key duties include producing the STEAM delivery plan, establishing an evaluation framework, regularly reporting on measurable key performance indicators and ensuring the delivery of key policies.

You will be responsible for allocating resource and commissioning projects which deliver against STEAM recommendations, whilst promoting best practice identified through the delivery of these recommendations. You will possess a thorough understanding of stakeholder management and demonstrate excellent influencing, diplomacy and project management skills.

To be considered for this post, you must have an appropriate qualification in Economics, Urban Regeneration or any related discipline, or relevant experience. The successful applicant will possess a high level of analytical capability and a strategic approach to project delivery.

You will have exceptional communication, presentation and organisational skills that can be utilised at a range of levels including Council members, private sector partners, senior managers, service providers and service users. You will have an understanding of political sensitivity and budget management, as well as the ability to establish good working relations with senior business leaders, public sector leaders and politicians.

The post holder will have senior level experience in economic development and/or regeneration and will align with the Camden Ways of Working. The ability to think creatively and proactively to forward plan, manage tight deadlines and multiple tasks are essential to the role.
