As a Personal Secretary, you will work directly to the Traffic Commissioner providing critical support and organisation of tasks.

You will primarily provide secretarial and administrative office support, arranging internal and external meetings including preparing and issuing agendas and minutes. You will also collate correspondence for the Traffic Commissioner and use your expert written skills to draft responses and other documents.

The role will require you to handle administrative arrangements for public inquiries, driver conduct hearings and impounding hearings.

You will support the Office of the Traffic Commissioner in implementing the Traffic Commissioner's decisions, direction and instructions.

Role responsibilities will include:

• Providing secretarial and administrative support to the Traffic Commissioner
• Compiling and drafting accurate and full submissions of cases to the Traffic Officer, recommending a course of action and processing the cases as determined
• Providing a quality public inquiry, driver conduct hearing and impounding hearing service for the Traffic Commissioner
• Responding to requests from stakeholders
• Undertaking general administrative duties

About you

It is essential that you have experience of working as a personal secretary with proficient typing skills, both touch typing and copy typing and able to type 45-50 words per minute.

You will have excellent diary management skills and have the ability to work under pressure, to tight deadlines and agreed standards.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must for this role and you will also need to possess good analysis and problem solving skills. You should also have a good knowledge of IT systems, particularly Word, Excel and email.
