I have an interesting role for senior/advanced practitioners/SW/assistant team manager/ consultants with experience in LAC/ Leaving care. This new role is working in a North London Borough, as part of a 'pod' based multi disciplinary team in which the LAC/CIC team has been merged with the Leaving Care team. The role is for a Social Worker to provide supervision and practical support to a pod of 5 Social Workers with cases where the Local Authority is progressing plans for permanence for that child outside of their birth family/carers.

You will provide systemic supervision and lead regular Practice Support Groups (weekly), using systemic methods, to support cases. The team will be supported by a Primary Care Mental Health Practitioner attached to the team for complex cases where mental health is a feature. You will also provide guidance around Life Story work and the production of a Later Life letter. Training will be provided.

The Local Authority has a lot going for it, including a stable management team who have consistently progressed their redesign of the Local Authority's Children's Services with success and now have well embedded Signs of Safety procedures, a lot of permanent staff and no cuts to the budget in three years.

The salary is GBP41,025 to GBP43,815, dependent on your experience.

The Local Authority also offer an annual retention payment of GBP3000, split over two payments per year, so your salary will be from GBP44,025 to GBP46,815 yearly. They also offer a relocation payment of up to GBP7000 for people living over 15 miles away from the borough.

This is a different role and the successful candidate will be able to make a really positive impact on the lives of young people going through our care system, while working in a new and innovative way.

Please send me your CV and phone number ASAP if you are interested or pass this on to someone else who might be- this role closes on the 6th of October so we need to move quickly for you to apply for this role.
