IT and Business Services, which are part of Route Services are delivering services that are vital to the running of the railway, deliver the provision of services agreed by the routes to allow them to benefit from economies of scale and the optimisation of our critical resources. Every year we buy and deliver 2000km of rail and 2.5 million tonnes of ballast and operate 1200 rail vehicles. Behind the scenes we process GBP7bn of payments, handle over 23,000 IT helpdesk calls and make sure everyone's wages are paid on time.

Brief Description

To manage the implementation of change programmes and projects to agreed scope, time, cost and quality requirements, working with Function Directors, Executive Sponsors, Senior Rail Industry stakeholders, user communities, suppliers and their representatives.

About the role (External)

Key Accountabilities:
1. Design and deliver business change to impacted user communities in order to meet the requirements of the project brief. Deliver and obtain sign-off for business change outputs including processes, use cases, flow diagrams, work instructions, user guides, videos, training, briefings
2. Lead on project stakeholder management and communications to ensure the required level of engagement and understanding to facilitate successful delivery.
3. Ensure measures and benefits realisation plans are in place to demonstrate business benefit.
4. Own the plan for business change, report on progress to project stakeholders and sponsors, and manage issues and risks
5. Comply with Network Rail and Route Services governance processes achieving Stage Gates and meeting reporting requirements.
6. Undertake lessons learned cycles and take action to ensure continuous improvement
7. Support other members of the project and programme team in achieving their project objectives.
8. Drive for quality and timely outputs from other Network Rail teams and 3 rd parties, and meet their requirements of the project in order to successfully deliver.

Job skills, experience and qualifications:

Essential
• Proven experience in the design and delivery of a successful change programme involving people, processes and systems change.
• Outstanding interpersonal, negotiation, influence and presentation skills
• Experience of applying a best-practice change management methodology to a programme
• Experience of developing benefits realisation plans
• Experience of applying programme and project methodologies (PRINCE2, MSP)

Desirable
• Educated to degree level.
• Experience of line management
• Change Management accreditation
• PRINCE2 and Managing Successful Programmes Practitioner
• Knowledge of/experience in the UK rail industry.
• Knowledge of/experience of IT change projects.
• Ability to adapt readily to changing work and responsibilities.

Network Rail adheres to a structured pay framework, any salary offered will be within the following pay range: GBP42,336 - GBP47,628
