This is a great chance to join a leading international medical communications agency as a Senior Medical Writer and be base in their offices in Cheshire or Oxfordshire with the possibility for some working from home depending upon experience.

You will be providing high quality medical writing to clients across a broad range of different projects. You would be joining a small team that works with publications and medical affairs.

Medical Writing:

Deliver high quality scientific content that meets client needs, budget specification, internal quality standards and timelines. Work requires minimal amendment following internal review
Act as editorial lead for one or more account and provide the main point of contact on matters of scientific content for external stakeholders
Produce a broad range of communication materials in a style appropriate for the specific target audience
Take ownership of editorial component of multiple projects
Proactively manage own workload and prioritise own projects
Implement knowledge of relevant guidelines / codes of practice (e.g. GPP ABPI and individual pharma company guidelines) in project work
Review scientific content for a range of outputs within an account according to client needs internal quality standards and agreed specifications budgets and timeframes
Provide timely consistent and constructive feedback to other team members
Take briefs from clients and provide full and accurate written / verbal briefs for team members and freelancers
Manage scientific discussions at client meetings and brainstorms
Contribute to costing process for editorial components of projects

Business Development:

Contribute effectively to internal meetings and brainstorms generating ideas for further development
Provide broad scientific expertise for new business pitches and proposals
Support other team members in developing new business opportunities with existing clients
Attend pitches and meetings with new clients where appropriate

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Life science degree, preferably a higher science degree
Previous writing experience in a medical communications agency and experience of reviewing or relevant writing experience gained in the pharmaceutical industry
Experience of writing a broad range of materials
Coach and mentor less experienced team members
Excellent attention to detail
Good team worker
