Brief Description

We have an exciting new position in our organisation for a Senior Financial Analyst which reports directly into the Finance Director.

Your role will be to support the Finance Director in developing and leading the strategic financial planning function across IP Southern region. You will be responsible for reporting early warning indicators, 'what-if' analysis, deadlines and other requirements. You will be someone who is quality driven, enthusiastic and open minded. You will also oversee the production of relevant data for IPS Board providing robust financial insight and commentary as required.

About the role (External)

Key Accountabilities
The Senior Financial Analyst will undertake the following tasks:

• Review, analyse and challenge the business plan submissions for compliance with targets.
• Lead the development of consistent models and financial analysis of all activities, including the setting of benchmarking and best practice, internal and external, for all activities.
• Provide the appropriate management information and support to budget holders for control of expenditure and business case development.
• Derive from analysis and discussions, opportunities for improvement. Propose actions to budget holders.
• Monitor and report on progress in the implementation of efficiencies identified in the business plan by the use of the efficiency tracking process.
• Manage the production of reporting packs, including investment papers, for management reviews.

• Experience in project accounting for large construction projects
• Advanced Financial planning analytic capabilities
• Advanced Excel Modelling skills
• Proven track record of defining and delivering business processes at an enterprise level
• An ability to work well under pressure in a rapidly evolving environment.
• Ability to work remotely and autonomously
• Ability to tailor presentation styles to suit audience levels.
• Proficient use Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Comfortable to challenge seniority and existing processes

• Full membership of relevant professional body
• 3 years post qualification experience within finance disciplines of Network Rail and/or external organisations

We adhere to a structured pay framework, any salary offered will be within the following pay range: GBP42,336 - GBP52,920
