Graduate Assistant in Sport and Exercise Sciences - Fixed Term for 3 M
Newman University wishes to make an immediate, fixed term appointment to the full time post of Graduate Assistant in Sport and Exercise Sciences. We are seeking a well-qualified and highly motivated individual who can support the learning, teaching and research within the Sport and Health subject area.
The Sport and Health subject area at Newman is well-established, with highly qualified and experienced staff and a state of the art Human Performance Laboratory. The successful candidate will be supporting sport and exercise science related elements of learning, teaching and research across the area, including a range of undergraduate programmes, masters research programmes and supporting doctoral research activities.
Recent developments at Newman have seen considerable investment in teaching spaces, our programmes make good use of laboratories and technological teaching rooms in the delivery of innovative, high quality, student led learning and teaching.
Applicants should have a minimum of a 2.1 Undergraduate Degree, and a Masters Degree, with Distinction, or with a Distinction in the dissertation component, in a sport & exercise related discipline. You will also require experience of providing technical support, knowledge of exercise related testing techniques, including physiological, biomechanical, physical activity and psychological techniques, and also have experience of maintaining records and equipment.
