We are looking for a Group Accountant to lead our team and to be the authority's short and medium term financial planning expert. You will manage the preparation of budget monitoring information for Heads of Service and for submission to various committees, and provide timely warning of spending not in-line with budget. You will also manage the team that delivers our Treasury Management and Insurance functions.

Educated to degree level or equivalent you will be a qualified accountant (CCAB, CIPFA or similar) with significant experience in the field. You will have substantial experience of working at an advanced level within the accountancy arena, with in depth working knowledge of medium term financial planning and the financial challenges facing a district council. Good numerical and analytical skills, excellent communication skills and a proven track record of successfully working in a finance environment are also required for this post.
