I have an excellent opportunity for an Oracle Support Specialist to joinan established company in there Caerphilly office.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a highlycustomer focused support service with multi-client mission critical weband enterprise infrastructure based environment. You will be supportingmultiple system environments for development, testing and productionrelease.

You will also be responsible for:
*Responsible for the support and maintenance of all client Oraclesystems - providing support to client's databases and maintaining highavailability through proactive measures.
*Responsible for owning major Oracle incidents.
*Resolve complex technical issues escalated by other internal departments.
*Responsible for ensuring the integrity and availability of alldatabases through proactive management and monitoring.
*Ensuring clients & partners are updated on status of issues.
Implement operational procedures, tools and best practice as defined inthe corporate business plan.
*Responsible for evaluation and testing of Oracle patches and upgrades.
*Configure, check and correct backups and any errors.
*Evaluate new Oracle features, determine their potential use forbusiness applications.
*Perform installation, administration, troubleshooting of Oracle systems.
*Comply with release management, change management and qualityassurance standards.
*Identify and implement process improvements in various database aspects.

To apply for this position, you must have
*5+ years' experience in Oracle Database Administration.
*Good understanding of Oracle RDBMS (11g, 12c) including:administration; backup & recovery (including RMAN); performancetuning, database high availability and failover Technologies(Active/Passive clustering, Data Guard).
*Experience of Oracle within both web (including Oracle WebLogicServer, Oracle HTTP Server) & non-web environments.
*Knowledge of MySQL preferred but not essential.
*Experience of liaising with Oracle Support
*Knowledge of Unix shell scripting
