Technology Resource Planning Manager - 1 year FTC - London - GBP48,000 - GBP52,000 pro-rata

Square One are looking for a Technology Resource Planning Manager to come on board for an initial 12 month fixed term contract.

This is an initial 12 month fixed term contract, paying GBP48,000 - GBP52,000 pro-rata

Purpose:
To manage the Technology Resource Management function, responsible for all elements of the supply processes across Technology.

Main Responsibilities:
Work closely with the Portfolio Manager and support the Head of Strategy and
Engagement to create and implement governance processes and procedures to manage supply and demand across Technology.
Advise and influence the Senior Team on best practice and consistent operation for resourcing.
Engage in continuous improvement activities to optimise utilisation of resource for the benefit of the client
Facilitate the management of resource costs ensuring Finance have the latest forecasts.
From the portfolio of demand, plan for the appropriate resource capacity and capability to deliver Technology's priorities.
Take responsibility for and drive the recruitment of all levels of resource in Technology.
Advise on the approach and relevant policies, ensuring resources are recruited in a timely and cost-effective fashion.
Work with Procurement to create and implement appropriate supplier relationships to deliver the clients needs and operate those relationships according to the agreed terms.
Support and facilitate recruitment with hiring managers
Run capacity and capability reviews with Technology stakeholders
Facilitate resource allocation to projects, based on plans and forecasts.
Ensure people are allocated to projects in a way that delivers business needs firstly and supports personal career development a close second.
Maintain resource supply and assignment trackers, ensuring data quality is of a high standard.
Predict and manage resource conflicts/constraints across projects, working with stakeholders through to resolution, instigating a resource contentions process as necessary.
Develop and maintain a Technology organisation skills Matrix; identifying areas for increase/change in the organisation's capabilities/skills for upcoming projects driven by the Technology Strategy and Architecture Roadmap.
Ensure that expert support is provided as and when required.
Audit and assess the ongoing success and effectiveness of the process.
Produce reports and MI on resource management activity highlighting trends and suggesting actions.
Be familiar with and adhere to all relevant policies and procedures at all times

Skills required:
Basic understanding through minimal experience or training
Good working knowledge and ability in simple context
Sound knowledge and ability in a variety of contexts
Expert knowledge and ability to provide coaching/consultancy

Knowledge required:
Good standard of education - Degree or equivalent. (essential)
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools - especially Microsoft Excel. (essential) and including Microsoft Project (desirable) MS Visio (desirable)
Understanding and experience of a software development project life cycle. (essential)
Understanding and experience of an infrastructure project life cycle. (essential)
Strong planner with analytical thinking and problem solving skills.
Team player capable of building instant, credible rapport with peers and stakeholders.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Experience required:
Resource planning across a portfolio of Technology projects
Project Management across all areas.
Facilitating negotiations to resolve resource conflicts
Worked in a project office/project management environment, delivering large scale software and infrastructure projects.
Solid and demonstrable experience of resource planning/allocation.
Process creation and improvement across Technology functions

This is an initial 12 month fixed term contract, paying GBP48,000 - GBP52,000 pro-rata
