Role Overview:

The main function of the role and the department is to protect the company's debtor ledger and support the AR & AP Manager. Cash targets set are agreed with Finance in order to support the companys daily commitments. The function assists in maximising sales whilst ensuring minimum bad debts.

The role of Senior Credit Controller will oversee the running of the Credit Control team as and when directed by the AR & AP Manager and will ensure the timely collection of the debtors ledger in an organised and professional manner in accordance with company policy whilst maintaining complete customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities and Key Results Areas:

The role of Senior Credit Controller sits within UK Finance, reporting into AR & AP Manager.
Helping supervise the Credit Control team, the role is responsible for the collection of approximately 70 million turnover with circa 2,000 outstanding credit accounts.
The role will be responsible for the following:
Supervising the Credit Control team, under the guidance of the AR&AP Manager
Daily / Weekly and Monthly reporting bringing issues to the attention of the AR&AP Manager
Daily query management and reporting to the wider business
Monthly Query and debt meetings with PowerPoint presentations
Ledger reviews with the Credit control team
Reconciliations
Credit approval of new accounts
Direct Debit runs
Manage and reconcile the LA Cash accounts
Part management of the high volume daily calls to manage the collection of debts, ensuring monthly targets are achieved.
Ensuring Credica is fully updated by the Credit Control Team to ensure visibility on all accounts at all times.
Maintain and manage accurate Sales Ledger accounts to ensure debtor balances are correct.
To ensure prompt action is given to customer correspondence to ensure customer satisfaction.
To liaise with all departments to ensure disputes are resolved within company guidelines.
Liaise with the solicitors for accounts passed legal
Special projects as requested by the AR&AP Manager
Other ad hoc duties relating to the AR ledger

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Previous credit control experience is essential.
GSCE or equivalent in Mathematics and English.
Strong IT skills with efficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook as well as financial/CRM systems. Experience using Baan and Credica would be highly desirable however not essential as training will be given.
Previous team leading experience essential.
