Social Worker - Assessment and Intervention TeamBraintreeSalary from GBP30,000 to GBP35,000Permanent, full time contract (37 hours per week) The RoleFamily Operations delivers direct provision of services relating to vulnerable children, young people and complex families. These services will be delivered against specifications set by the People Commissioning function in line with the County Council's overarching outcomes. The role reports directly to a Team Manager and will be a member of a small team of children, young people & families professionals focussed on delivering excellent social work practice within given area of service including, but not limited to Assessment & Intervention, Family Support & Protection, Children in Care & Leaving Care, Fostering & Adoption. The post holder is responsible for bringing to bear the highest possible standards in Social Work practice, ability and skills, working in accordance with defined legal frameworks, Policy and Procedures. Assessment & Intervention TeamThe Assessment and Intervention teams (A&I) are the gateway by which children, young people, parents and carers, and other agencies gain access to the Family Operations services of the council. The aim of the Assessment and Intervention team is to undertake incoming assessment and short-term intervention work with families. Assessment and Intervention teams work in a focused way with those children in need (CIN) and their families offering three months intervention. They also deal with S47 child protection enquiries and work jointly with the police and other partners in assessing immediate risk for children that come to our attention. They transfer cases into longer term teams should families require longer term intervention or the children become subject to a child protection plan or come into care of the local authority.
