Our national security has never been more important. Or more in the spotlight.

Join us as a Security Adviser to play a critical role in protecting Government – and in turn, the UK public - from the biggest threats we face.

You will be part of the Government Security Profession; a community with a mandate to establish transformation, and responsibility for an entirely new security model. From cyber to terrorism threats, you will assess risks for your own department and across Government to protect Civil Servants and the public we serve. You will take ownership of critical security services to maintain exceptional standards of delivery.

As a leader in our community, you will build strong relationships with partners both in and outside of Government. As a Security Adviser, you will build a network across a Department and ensure local security advice is available.

You will have a major influence over security in Government, advising leaders right up to Board level, to play your part in protecting billions of pounds and massive quantities of data which pass through our public services every year, and in turn, you will protect millions of British people.

To succeed in these roles, technical knowhow matters less than a strategic mind. We need big-picture thinkers, analysts and communicators. Smart people that can balance risk with opportunity and get the most from their colleagues. Community-minded advocates for the security profession that will proactively share.

A background in security, technology, risk management or data will be beneficial, but full training will be provided to help you get up to speed.

And while experience matters, you’ll be passionate, above all, about protecting our nation.
