As Director of Digital, Data and Technology you will have recognised Agile delivery experience enabling you to develop and deliver the departments digital agenda across UK and international platforms. This includes leading and developing a sustainable and expert digital function. A function which in turn supports the Department for International Trade (DIT) in promoting and financing international trade and investment.

This is an exciting time to work in DIT, a growing Ministerial Department at the heart of the UK’s relationship with the global economy.

The digital agenda is a key focus area not only across government, but even more so for DIT as it is dealing with an international digital agenda across 108 markets globally, sitting at the heart of the government as the UK prepares to leave the EU.

You will need to work with the Department’s current cross-Government technology suppliers to ensure legacy systems and contracts are managed appropriately.

A few of your key responsibilities will include:

- Agree the strategic direction and business priorities for the development of the Department’s technology, ensuring that digitally driven solutions and services are fully supported by the right architectures and systems;

- Develop and embed a culture of agile software delivery by ensuring a wider contribution to the business change agenda;

- Drive the flexible, cost effective transformation of the Department’s technology estate using appropriate development techniques, open source solutions, and open standards to create secure digital services;

- Lead the recruitment and embedding of a sustainable digital capability across the Department, and a complementary culture change strategy to widen staff awareness of digital approaches and tools.
