Retail Manager (job share)
Join Amnesty International UK and lead a team raising significant funds to help create a safer, and more just world. Leading the Retail Team during a period of high growth, you will implement our strategic plan to maximise income across our second-hand bookshops and online operation.
About the role
As Retail Manager, you will jointly lead the Retail Team (staff and volunteers) to continued success. You will be responsible for managing, motivating and developing our Bookshops Managers and Team Leaders so that income from our existing portfolio of shops across the UK continues to grow (with online selling a key part of this strategy). During 2018, we have investment to further expand our network of shops and online offer, as well as planning to start claiming Gift Aid across our shops. So, this is an incredibly exciting time to join us.
You will have proven experience of running a multi-site retail operation to deliver results, ideally within the charity sector. With joint responsibility for the line management of seven staff (and a wider team which includes over 300 volunteers), you will have a passion for people management, and inspire those that work with you to be high achievers. You will be organised, highly efficient and a problem solver with a good understanding of all aspects of managing a successful retail operation. And with this being a job share role, you will have the attributes to work alongside your job share partner to create a seamless operation and ensure that the team and operation continues to be led successfully.
Our aim is simple: an end to human rights abuses. Independent, international and influential, we campaign for justice, fairness, freedom and truth wherever they are denied. Already our network of over seven million people is making a difference in almost every country in the world. Whether we are applying pressure through powerful research or direct lobbying, mass demonstrations or online campaigning, we are all inspired by hope for a better world. One where human rights are enjoyed by all.
