Health & Safety Coordinator, East Kilbride
Fixed Term Contract (Until December 2018) - Part Time

What you become a part of
An opportunity has arisen at our East Kilbride factory for a part time Health &Safety Co-ordinator, reporting to the site Health and Safety Manager. This role will support the site health and safety objectives across both Manufacturing and Distribution and work 5 x short days per week (i.e. 4 x 5 hours and 1 x 4 hours).

What to expect
* Enable the exploitation of existing and developing products

* Where needed, provide health & safety support during implementation of new products and processes by ensuring coordination and execution of QESH checks during the realization of projects.

* Drive effectiveness & efficiency

* Co-ordinates internal audits to verify that safe working practices and risk assessments are being applied as specified in the Health and Safety Policy.

* Excel in Customer Management

* Support external auditors with their audit process, providing access to Policy, risk assessment methods and procedures and sampling of activity as required to meet the external audit protocol.

* Drive Corporate responsibility & sustainability

* Health and Safety Checks - support complex and specialised health & safety risk assessments as defined in the H & S monitoring plan for the site.
* Incident Management - support Health and Safety related incidents and accidents as directed by the Health and Safety Manager to ensure thorough investigations take place and findings are incorporated into the preventative H&S Plan for the site

* Use H&S risk assessment findings to proactively amend the preventative H&S plan for the site.
* Provide advice and support to the team in order to achieve H&S objectives.
* Site Health and Safety - Follow site safety policies and best practices to ensure safe-working for self and to protect the safety of colleagues to demonstrate zero accident behaviour
* Ensure own hygiene meets requirements of a Food Factory

5. Functional excellence/Continuous Improvement
* Perform tasks as required by the H&S Manager to ensure the team objectives are achieved.
* Share best practices with other team members and colleagues to improve performance of the site.

Skills and Experience
* Experience in Health and Safety risk assessment
* FMCG (ideally food or drink) factory experience preferable
* Root cause analysis experience preferable
* Involvement/experience in Accident/Incident investigation
