Overview The Zoological Society of London (ZSL), a charity founded in 1826, is a world-renowned centre of excellence for conservation science and applied conservation. ZSL’s mission is to promote and achieve the worldwide conservation of animals and their habitats. This is realised by carrying out field conservation and research in over 50 countries across the globe and through education and awareness-raising at our two zoos, ZSL London Zoo and ZSL Whipsnade Zoo, inspiring people to take conservation action. Role Profile ZSL is looking for a High Profile Relationship Executive to develop and manage relationships with high profile donors and prospects. This role will work with the broader Fundraising team, Senior Management team and Directors to approach high profiles individuals and develop ways to get them involved with ZSL’s work, including through events and the ZSL ambassador scheme to ultimately generate income. Main Duties and Responsibilities To produce and implement a strategy for the management of high profile relationships. To research, identify, approach and develop appropriate high profile individuals to discuss involvement with ZSL. To manage high profile fundraising events, liaising with the events operation team, to ensure that they are creative, appropriate and are income generating. This will include the annual Gala event. To be the main liaison with the Royal Household e.g. visits to the zoo, royal openings, attendance at events, patronage etc. To manage the ZSL Ambassador scheme, ensuring liaison with PR and other relevant teams. Ensure that appropriate reporting schedules to Trusts and Foundations are implemented. Person Specification Experience of working with high profile individuals, ideally within the charity sector. Background in events, press relations and/or fundraising. Has an interest and general knowledge in animal conservation. Excellent project management skills. Ideally have experience of working with a CRM database system.
