Kind Hearts Care & Support is a local domiciliary care agency. We pride ourselves on providing excellent care services in the Lichfield and Burton on Trent area and surrounding villages.
We have an exciting role for someone to come and join us. We have full time and part time vacancies available and our full job description is below. Own car is essential.
We have excellent rates of pay including travel time, mileage and expenses paid on top. Also we offer holiday pay and also the opportunity to join the pensions scheme.
The ideal candidate will be confident, professional and have initiative to work by themselves. They will have their own vehicle and also live in the local area.
No training or experience is necessary as full training is provided.
HOME CARE WORKER

Job description

Job Title: Home Care Worker

Reporting to: Registered Manager

Purpose: To be part of a team of staff to meet the personal care and practical needs of clients in a way that respects the dignity of the individual, whilst promoting their independence. This role will include all care that the client would reasonably expect from members of their own family, but will not include any tasks of nursing care.

Principle responsibilities

1.To assist clients who need help with getting up or going to bed, dressing, undressing, washing, showering or bathing, using the toilet.

2.To assist with shaving (not wet shaving), hair and nail care, oral care

3.To assist with feeding

4.To assist with medication

5.To help clients with mobility problems and other physical disabilities, including incontinence, and help in the use and care of aids and personal equipment.

6.To help promote physical and mental activity of clients by talking to them, accompanying them on outings and sharing other activities such as recreation.

7.To make and change beds, tidy rooms; do light cleaning and empty commodes.

8.To inspect and launder client’s clothing.

9.To prepare light meals, set tables and trays, serve meals, wash up and tidy dining areas after meals.

10.To answer the door, telephone and emergency alarms, and to greet visitors.

11.To ensure that all planned visits to clients are carried out and that any inability or failure to fulfil a visit is immediately reported to your manager.

12.To write reports (in client’s homes using company paperwork), participate in training and staff meetings as required by the service.

13.Where directed, to attend service user review meetings, and to participate in planning care delivery objectives.

14.To perform other duties as reasonably required in accordance with the purpose of the position

Terms and conditions of service:

Location of employment

Most care services will be provided in client's own homes. Some services will require the Home Support Worker to travel locally e.g. to shops, hospital, doctor’s surgery.

Kind Hearts Care & Support Head Office is Suite 5, 64 Britannia Way, Brittannia Enterprise Park, Lichfield, Staffordshire, WS14 9UY.

Rates of pay

Home Care Workers employed on a purely sessional basis will be paid on an hourly rate of £8.05. (£10.98 for weekend work and Bank Holidays). This will normally be paid weekly directly into your bank account following receipt of the Client Service Record (a list of clients seen during the week). Tax and National Insurance contributions (if payable) will be deducted, as appropriate, at source.

The rate of pay for support work will be £7.50 per hour (£9.39 for weekend work and Bank Holidays).

Travelling expenses

Home Care Workers will be reimbursed for petrol or other reasonable travelling expenses incurred as a result of travelling on authorised company business. Claims for travel expenses must be submitted weekly. Travel time from client to client is also paid at a rate of £7.50 per hour. This must be submitted using travel time from Google unless there are extenuating circumstances.

Holidays

Holiday dates must be agreed with management and at least three weeks’ notice must be given for any leave. Annual leave entitlement is 5.6 times your usual working week (this figure can include bank and public holidays).

Notice period

Appointments are subject to three weeks’ notice of termination, in writing, on either side.

Pre-employment medical clearance

All appointments are subject to pre-employment medical clearance and this will be arranged as soon as possible after an offer of appointment has been made.

Insurance

If Home Care Workers are asked to transport clients to shops, hospital etc, they must ensure that they have valid car or vehicle insurance to cover their travel to and from different places of work and for carrying clients, and a vehicle with an up to date MoT Certificate.

DBS/POVA checks

It is a requirement of employment that you should have a satisfactory Enhanced DBS Disclosure and a POVA check. This will be paid for by Kind Hearts Care & Support Ltd, however, if you leave the company within 3 months of the contract starting date the full cost of the disclosure (£64.98) must be repaid.
