No training or experience is necessary as full training is provided.

Job Title: Home Care Worker
Reporting to: Registered Manager
Purpose: To be part of a team of staff to meet the personal care and practical needs of clients in a way that respects the dignity of the individual, whilst promoting their independence. This role will include all care that the client would reasonably expect from members of their own family, but will not include any tasks of nursing care.
Principle responsibilities1.To assist clients who need help with getting up or going to bed, dressing, undressing, washing, showering or bathing, using the toilet.2.To assist with shaving (not wet shaving), hair and nail care, oral care3.To assist with feeding4.To assist with medication5.To help clients with mobility problems and other physical disabilities, including incontinence, and help in the use and care of aids and personal equipment.6.To help promote physical and mental activity of clients by talking to them, accompanying them on outings and sharing other activities such as recreation.7.To make and change beds, tidy rooms; do light cleaning and empty commodes.8.To inspect and launder client’s clothing.9.To prepare light meals, set tables and trays, serve meals, wash up and tidy dining areas after meals.10.To answer the door, telephone and emergency alarms, and to greet visitors.11.To ensure that all planned visits to clients are carried out and that any inability or failure to fulfil a visit is immediately reported to your manager.12.To write reports (in client’s homes using company paperwork), participate in training and staff meetings as required by the service.13.Where directed, to attend service user review meetings, and to participate in planning care delivery objectives.14.To perform other duties as reasonably required in accordance with the purpose of the position15.To comply with Kind Hearts Care & Support policies and procedures at all times.16.To comply with current legislation relevant to the job17.To comply with the company’s health and safety policy and procedures.18.To report to your manager any significant changes in health or well-being of a client.19.To encourage clients to regain and maintain as much independence as possible.20.To refrain at all times from any type of abusive actions towards clients, and to report any abusive actions or regimes by any other person immediately in accordance with company policy.21.To maintain the privacy of clients and to comply with company confidentiality policy.Person specification

Most care services will be provided in client's own homes. Some services will require the Home Support Worker to travel locally e.g. to shops, hospital, doctor’s surgery.

Home Care Workers employed on a purely sessional basis will be paid on an hourly rate of £8.05. (£10.98 for weekend work and Bank Holidays). This will normally be paid weekly directly into your bank account following receipt of the Client Service Record (a list of clients seen during the week). Tax and National Insurance contributions (if payable) will be deducted, as appropriate, at source.
The rate of pay for support work will be £7.50 per hour (£9.39 for weekend work and Bank Holidays).Travelling expenses
Home Care Workers will be reimbursed for petrol or other reasonable travelling expenses incurred as a result of travelling on authorised company business. Claims for travel expenses must be submitted weekly. Travel time from client to client is also paid at a rate of £7.50 per hour. This must be submitted using travel time from Google unless there are extenuating circumstances.
Holiday dates must be agreed with management and at least three weeks’ notice must be given for any leave. Annual leave entitlement is 5.6 times your usual working week (this figure can include bank and public holidays).Notice period

All appointments are subject to pre-employment medical clearance and this will be arranged as soon as possible after an offer of appointment has been made.Insurance
If Home Care Workers are asked to transport clients to shops, hospital etc, they must ensure that they have valid car or vehicle insurance to cover their travel to and from different places of work and for carrying clients, and a vehicle with an up to date MoT Certificate.
It is a requirement of employment that you should have a satisfactory Enhanced DBS Disclosure and a POVA check. This will be paid for by Kind Hearts Care & Support Ltd, however, if you leave the company within 3 months of the contract starting date the full cost of the disclosure (£64.98) must be repaid.
