Our client is a management consultant looking for a temporary Senior Administrator/Personal Assistant to support them with their Home Office administration. This role is temporary cover while they recruit a permanent assistant.

They are offering an excellent rate to attract the right candidate. This is around £25 per hour. Core hours are 4-6 hours (3 afternoons) plus option for up to 4 hours overtime per week. Exact working times to be mutually agreed. The contract is for 3 months. It may be extended depending on the time taken to recruit a permanent assistant. There is also scope for a successful temporary assistant to apply for the permanent role.

Role Responsibilities
• Maintaining accurate contact databases (Word and Excel). Regular updates made working with client, using short audio/typed notes. This is not just data inputting. Over time, the successful candidate will need to identify errors / inconsistencies with updates and scope for process improvements.
• Creating emails and letters from client notes (typed). Also proofreading of correspondence drafted by client.
• Some assistance with online research
• Filling in paper forms for official bodies
• Accurate paper and electronic filing
• General ad-hoc administration duties
• Regular reconciliation of bank and credit card statements with the client
• Creating regular short management reports with the client to monitor expenditure
• Limited driving /support for client to local shops, post office etc.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience
• Good graduate (2:2 minimum) from traditional university. Vocational degree preferred.
• Proven office professional (e.g. Administrator, PA, Secretary) with experience of working at senior level, one to one
• Background in professional sectors strongly preferred e.g. management consulting, professional services (legal, finance), bulge-bracket financial services
• Current / recent experience in a small office working one to one
• Good knowledge of administration systems
• Good ability to complete work to agreed timescales and standards
• Good reading, written and verbal communication skills
• Good level of numeracy
• Proficiency in Ms Word and MS Excel on a computer not Mac (MS Office 2010 preferred)

• Good rail links – near Biggleswade Station which is on the London Kings Cross to Peterborough line
• Good road links – 5 minutes from A1. The client site is commutable from most of Hertfordshire, down to St Albans in the south.
• This role could suit a senior office professional who can offer a high level of motivation, capability and commitment to fulfil this critical role.
• This role is unlikely to suit a candidate with fixed afternoon commitments e.g. school run, lectures as overtime is sometimes needed.
