UNIVERSITY ACCESS OFFICER / MIDLANDS UNIVERSITY EVENTS OFFICER: 50/50 SPLIT ROLE
About the role

We are seeking a highly talented individual to carry out a split role, spending 2.5 days per week delivering The Access Project’s programme in Shirebrook Academy and 2.5 days per week coordinating our regionally-delivered university support activities across the Midlands.

University Access Officers manage the day-to-day running of the programme in The Access Project’s partner schools. They work closely with students, staff at all levels, tutors, and with the rest of The Access Project’s team to ensure that the delivery of the programme is optimised.

Successful candidates will have the opportunity to continue the fantastic work going on at Shirebrook Academy. They will also enjoy working on the ‘front line’ of addressing educational disadvantage, as well as benefiting from opportunities to become involved in the wider work of The Access Project as it continues to expand.

Central to our new model of university support provision is a set of centrally-delivered, out-of-school activities designed to bring together students from across The Access Project schools: our Oxbridge and Medicine & Dentistry Societies for Year 12 students and our Year 10 and Year 11 TAP University Trips. In line with these, all TAP students will also receive our new monthly University Readiness Newsletter sign-posting relevant opportunities and other activities. Part of the Delivery Team, Midlands University Events Officer will be responsible for coordinating and delivering these elements of our provision for our Midlands students, working very closely with the Senior University Events Officer who is based in London.

This is a challenging role, which is well-suited to resilient individuals looking to pursue a career in education and/or the social enterprise/charity sectors.
